Monthly Market Risk Update: February 2023 [SlideShare]

My colleague Sam Millette, manager, fixed income on Commonwealth’s Investment Management and Research team, helped me put together this month’s Market Risk Update. Thanks for the assist, Sam! Let’s take a closer look.

Equity markets rallied in January, supported by falling long-term interest rates. The S&P 500 gained 6.28 percent during the month, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) experienced a 2.93 percent rise. The Nasdaq Composite led the way with a 10.72 percent gain in January.

Given that many of the indicators remain in red or yellow territory, we have left the overall market risk level at red for now.
