Today I have to punt. I had planned to write about inflation and how to think about the most recent print. What should we be looking at? Where is the inflation coming from? What is likely to happen over the next year or so? It was going to be a great post—really!
Unfortunately, real life intervened. My wife broke her ankle yesterday while chasing the dog. But being a real trouper, she still headed up to Vermont with a friend for a long-planned girls' weekend. Good for her, I thought, until this morning when I got the text asking me to head up to New Hampshire (halfway) to pick her up as a friend drove her down. As it turned out, her ankle got considerably more painful in the night, and we are headed back for an appointment with an orthopedist.
While we are obviously not happy about this, I choose to look at it as something to be grateful for. We have the flexibility, both in time and financially, to do what is needed to take care of her. She will be fine and will get the care she needs. Our son, Jackson, and I will take care of her at home. We are all incredibly lucky.
But something had to give, and that was today’s post. I will do it next week and, hopefully, it will be even better for the delay. In the meantime, I hope you all have a great weekend!
