David Prendergast

David Prendergast is a platform manager on the Investment Consulting Services team at Commonwealth Financial Network®, member FINRA/SIPC, the nation's largest privately held Registered Investment Adviser–independent broker/dealer. With the firm since June 2014, he is responsible for providing affiliated advisors with comprehensive solutions to investment-related questions, with a specific focus on our SMA/UMA product platform. His responsibilities also include ongoing investment product due diligence, sponsor support, and onboarding of new strategies to meet advisor demand. David graduated cum laude from Saint Anselm College with a BA in financial economics.

A 2018 report from the U.S. Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment found that, in the U.S. today, $12 trillion in client assets are held in socially responsible investing (SRI) offerings—a 38-percent increase over the $8.7 trillion in 2016. The study also says that $46.6 trillion in total assets are under professional management nationally. What does this mean? One in four managed dollars in the U.S. has a sustainable, responsible, or impact focus.
